Wednesday Night Fishing- July 25th, 2012

Wednesday Night Fishing- July 25th, 2012@ 6:30 P.M. (Map)

Temps are still up and despite the rain last week, water levels are down resulting in a lot of weed choked fishing areas which limits places to go with a small group.  It has been a couple of months since we last  fished in Elkhart, so, we will be meeting in Elkhart, In. at Beardsley Park which is located on the south east corner of the Main St. and Beardsley Ave. intersection  and will fish the Island Park area.

Hope You Can Make It!

June 16 Stream Clean Up

On Saturday June 16th, 2012 starting about 9 am – The Little Elkhart River Chapter of Trout Unlimited (LECTU) in conjunction with the SJRVFF is planning a fish habitat restoration project on the Little Elkhart River at CR. 43 just southeast of Middlebury in Elkhart County.

The project will involve cutting, moving, cabling and placing trees in-stream and installing 1/2 log habitat structures through out the stream to provide habitat and holding structure for trout.

Everyone is welcome.  You may want to bring a pair of gloves and old tennis shoes and long pants for wet wadding.  The club will provide waders but the river is shallow enough to wet wade with a sturdy pair of shoes.

Even if you can’t swing a sledge or get wet please plan on attending there will be a lot to learn, friends to see, and other flyfishers to meet.

The project should wrap up about noon.

Beverages and lunch will be provided.
